Quick Weekend Trip to NYC

I was lucky enough to explore NYC in the most magical time of the year. My Mom, Sister, Niece, and I took a quick weekend trip to New York City! It was the in between stage of right after Christmas right before New Years Eve.

We first got on the Amtrak train from Westerly, RI to Penn Station. It was about 3 hours but with food and drinks on the train and charging ports we were completely fine. Once we arrived we went straight to our hotel. I definitely recommend the Citizen M in Times Square. We could easily walk to restaurants and shops.

The Citizen M had everything you need. It’s super fun and unique with the coolest decorations. Anyone walking past this hotel will definitely stop to take a look. They have a rooftop bar, cafe, and a buffet breakfast. Customer service was on point and everyone was so kind. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms had LED lights to make your stay so fun. They have a TV right in front of the bed to make the stay relaxing. The only thing to note is that there is no parking and a max of 2 people per room.

Right next to our hotel was the cutest little Mexican restaurant called Toloache. It had the best vibes and excellent food. There were so many choices and the drinks were good as well. I ended up getting the Carne Asada Tacos. We also got Chips, guac, and salsa! A few hours later we got a bike ride to the holiday market in Bryant Park. We ended up getting Sweet Tooth Cream Cones. Just be cautious the name is not wrong, they are very sweet! Later that night my mom and I were craving New York Pizza and stopped at Ray’s Pizza. It was SO good! The next morning we got breakfast at Toasties and my mom said it was the best breakfast burrito she’s ever had.

A tradition me and my mom had was to always go to NYC to go see the Rockettes Christmas Specular at Radio City Music Hall every year. We haven’t done this in a few years but knew that my niece was old enough to enjoy the show. So this year we are starting this tradition with her and it’s so magical. Of course we had to stop at the American Girl Store! We went shopping to end our trip and it was so fun.

New York City is such an incredible city to visit. The shows, food, and stores are always so unique and I’m never bored when I visit. If you ever have a chance I highly recommend visiting New York City!
